A Parcel Map can be an important reference tool - the utility makes it easy to identify where a particular property is
located, relative to public lands or any surrounding properties. Today, much of the information dealt with by certain State and County government Departments is related to parcels, and parcel data is used every day by professionals in Municipal, State and County information systems. For that reason, Parcel Maps should display the most current and updated data available.
For Planners, Assessors and Engineers, a Parcel Map can be an indispensable tool in evaluating a proposed development or ensuring a zoning compliance. It provides an invaluable assist in managing many tax assessment processes, and there is probably no more convenient source of online information available to the general public, for determination of a given parcel ID number or location of a specific property.
Imagine the ability to tag your parcel IDs with the correct digital, road-based imagery, enabling your Department to associate imagery with parcel information – and you will see the value of Parcel Tagging using Facet Technology imagery.
Facet Technology develops and delivers technology solutions for efficient collection and use of roadway imagery. Our process consists of driving our data collection vehicles over all public roads in a City, State or County, collecting geo-referenced imagery and positioning of parcels, assets, buildings, roadways and other attributes. Our vehicles have multiple cameras and placement configurations, and a precision guidance system – comprised of an inertial navigation system, a distance measurement indicator, and a differential GPS – for accurate positioning. The collection vehicle is configured to “fire” its cameras at predetermined spatial intervals – typically 4 meter increments.
Facet Techology’s VanView® application enables users to view imagery from any of the 6 discreet cameras from each capture point. Additionally, users can advance the vehicle forward or backward in increments of 4 meters to new capture points. Samples of 2 camera angles from two distinct capture points for a property are displayed below:

Spherical Imagery
Facet also provides state-of-the-art spherical imagery. Users are immersed in a 360-degree by 270-degree viewing environment. Furthermore, the user can also navigate up and down the street at 4-meter increments. This allows users to view properties at dozens of angles, each of his or her choosing. Rather than limit the user to predetermined images of a property, the power of choice is where it belongs – in the hands of the professional.

The screen captures shown below detail a specific property, with imagery from the spherical camera taken from seven separate capture locations, while virtually driving down the street.
The set of screen capture imagery below shows a small subset of the angles that can be viewed from a single capture location centered in front of a property. As you move clockwise around the vehicle in the images below, the images simulate moving the spherical viewer toward the right from a single capture location.

Facet can enable its street-level imagery to integrate with various types of aerial imagery that a customer may have already licensed, such as oblique or orthorectified aerial imagery, providing users with simultaneous aerial and street-level views of specified parcels.
Facet Technology Parcel Tagging represents a clear price advantage, compared to other collectors and collection methods – a clear price advantage, with the added benefit of significant cost savings to the City, State or County and its agencies – especially in terms of time and financial resource allocation.
We invite every County, State and Municipal Assessor’s Office and GIS Department to contact us for more detailed information about utilizing Facet Technology imagery, and explore how utilizing our imagery can best meets your needs – now and into the future.
