Facet Technology Corp. Delivers first County for MTAIP to Harris

Facet Technology is pleased to announce that it has delivered the first county for validation to Harris Corporation. The map of a county in Indiana utilizes the Mobile360® van fleet for high accuracy basemap creation. “The availability of of a huge number of georeferenced imagery at every point enables sign and address extractions to be made wherever necessary” stated CTO Robert Laumeyer. He continued “With our work being continuously inspected by survey it really shows how reliable and repeatable the accuracy of the Mobile360® fleet is.”

“Facet has a long history in asset management and mass surveying, but this is our first work in the basemap area” according to Jamie Retterath, President of Facet. “We are excited by the prospect to work with Harris Corporation, and to deliver the high quality deliverables that they require.”

Facet utilizes its custom tool chain for the handling of the data, but final basemap editing is accomplished using COTS GIS software with custom extensions for accessing the unique street-level imagery that is inherent in the Mobile360® data streams.

Facet's Mobile360® enables the very high accuracy requirements for the MTAIP project. With the company's work being continuously inspected by survey, it confirms how reliable and repeatable the accuracy of the Mobile360® fleet is.
