Facet Technology Corporation is Awarded a United States Patent for Computer Vision Technology

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 24, 2001— Facet Technology Corporation, a computer vision software and services company, announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a patent relating to the company’s innovative computer vision software tools. The “Fuzzy Logic Color Filter” described in the patent allows distinct color combinations in harsh environments to be recognized through computer analysis.

U.S. Patent #6,266,442 is the first of several computer vision patents that will issue in the next eighteen months. Although the patented techniques are initially utilized for the identification of roadway assets for transportation customers, their future usage will encompass a much broader range of industries.
